ERE (electronic registered mail)

« Back to Glossary Index

ERE (electronic registered mail), or electronic registered letter, is a registered email sent by a qualified service provider. It has the same legal standing as a paper registered letter with return receipt. The recipient has 15 days to accept or reject it.

Example

Instead of printing, stuffing into an envelope, and mailing a formal notice, the collections agent sends it via ERE directly from the software. Proof of mailing and then proof of receipt are added to the customer’s file.

Why It’s Important

ERE saves time and money on large mailings, and the receipts are automatically filed.
